Rambutan

Family Sapindaceae.
Fruit oval, small (4-5 cm in diameter and 30-40 g) and surrounded by long «hairs», purple brown leather, while yellow varieties exist. The flesh is white and translucent and contains a single seed. Its texture is similar to that of grapes and taste similar to lychee, sweet, something sour and refreshing.
For fresh consumption simply cut in half the skin without penetrating the flesh and leave the pulp in the other half. Can also be used in salads, ice cream or sorbet and accompanying meats or cheeses.
