Green fruit resembling a lemon or lime wrinkled and edible leaves that grow in pairs and looking very much like an eight.
The leaves, very aromatic, finely chopped are used as a spice for soups, curries and chicken or fish dishes. They are sold fresh and dried. The fruit juice although not consumed directly, is used for preparing food or beverages. The skin of the fruit is also used to flavor dishes.
